Have you ever wondered if the Protestant Church was what Jesus had in mind? As Protestants, do our beliefs truly reflect the message of Christ as it has been passed down to us from the beginning? Or have we developed into a Church which has distorted the message and re-made Christ into our own image? As Protestants, we have worked ourselves into a serious predicament. On one hand, our Protestant heritage demands our faithful adherence to the Scriptures yet, on the other, this same heritage has provided no norm to judge what is Christian and what is not. The result has been a plethora of independent local congregations and denominations; many of which, have very different and often diametrically opposing beliefs and practices. Can we solve this predicament? It is only by understanding where we came from and where we are now, will we be able to do what needs to be done.
