This is a children's book, first in a series, which involves adventures of a magical kind by an old pirate called Cpt'n Blackheart. Due to the magical powers of his sorceress, Cpt'n Blackheart finds out that he can in fact talk to all animals both on land and at sea and between them, they end up on all manner of crazy adventures. Characters that are involved in these stories include such mythical creatures as mermaids, fairies and the like as well as animals on sea and land. Cpt'n Blackheart also has his magical ship's crew which consists of skeleton's, pirates and children especially picked for their adventurous imagination. Treasure, treasure maps, pirate ships obviously show up here and there in some of the stories as does his sorceress who without her, these stories would not be possible but a lot of the action takes place between his ship, his treasure cave and the local shanty towns.
