Reseña del libro "The Lady's a Rebel (en Inglés)"
The year is 1864. Vicksburg has been taken. Southern belle, Anneliese Tremaine has lost her family and her home has gone down in flames. Brokenhearted and practically destitute, Anneliese refuses to sign the Union Pledge and flees to New Orleans to seek out her loose-living sister who runs a bordello in the French Quarter. It's a foolish idea for any association with Flora could ruin the Tremaine family name let alone Anneliese's reputation. But what else can she do? Where else can she go to escape? Her plan goes further awry when she learns the only way she can get to her sister's is to take a riverboat filled with the hated Yankee blue-coats and a deceptive Frenchman who strive for her attention. Then when Anneliese is constantly helped by the attentiveness of a very handsome Yankee Army captain, he unexpectedly begins to tear at heartstrings when she least expects it. Torn between her growing feelings for the captain and her bitterness towards the North, Anneliese is at a crossroads. If the captain discovers she's refused to sign the Pledge, it'll be his head or hers. It could mean prison for the rest of her life. He may be a kindhearted soldier, but he's a Yankee first. The Union is his priority. Anneliese Tremaine is Southern through and through. She's not about to change for anyone -- not even the man who stole her heart.
