Heroes of Hope is a collection of twenty-seven poems, sub-categorized into The Ugly Days and The Beautiful Days. The Ugly Days' category centres on the agony of human and natural disaster suffered by the people through massive corruption, natural mishaps, dangerous migrant journeys, the new order of mundane actualities over and above the conservative and religious norms; while The Beautiful Days centres on the choice to stay happy and hopeful in spite of the aforementioned disasters. The poems are written with a distinct vision and voice and with an uncommon creation of imageries whose mental pictures are carried along with us after reading every single line. Perhaps, what is unique in this collection is the poet's ability to play with words in a very meaningful and serious ways, creating humour out of obscurity, yet making the message poignant. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Theophilus Enemali is an award-winning essayist at the maiden edition of Kogi State Undergraduate Essay Writing Contest in North Central Nigeria. He has taught Literature-in-English in reputable senior high schools in Nigeria, including Mea Mater Elizabeth High School, Enugu, Nigeria and Saint Kizito Minor Seminary, Idah, Kogi State, Nigeria. He holds a degree in English and Literary Studies from Kogi State University, Anyigba, Nigeria and currently a postgraduate student of English and Applied Linguistics. He is the author of several short stories and the novel titled HOMESICK IN PARADISE, published in 2014. The novel is currently being used as a literary text by some institutions of higher learning in Nigeria. It has been published also on Amazon, the largest online bookstore in the world.
