Reseña del libro "The Century of the Name (en Inglés)"
This book deals with the history of the Apostolic Pentecostals in the twentieth century. Starting in the early days of the Pentecostal revival noting that the early church always baptized in Jesus name which prompted this group to do the same, and raised questions about the doctrine of the Trinity. Stanley Wachtstetter is the author of the book has lived in the center of this revival and is a witness to the development of this movement. He has been an unofficial representative of the various oneness Pentecostal groups to the White House and Congress for many years. In this book he outlines the two key ingredients to the subject of baptism in the name by setting forth the development and explanation of the name of God and also dealing with the subject of water baptism from the creation of the world to the book of Revelation. He systematically outlines baptism from antiquity through the Jewish tabernacle and proselyte baptism through the teaching of Jesus and the great commission, and the development of it through the Acts of the Apostles and ultimately a reflection of its meaning in every scripture in the Epistles. reviewd by: Bishop Samuel Smith, General Chairman, Apostolic World Christian Fellowship: Stan Wachtstetter is a pioneer in Apostolic ambassadorship; politically, national and international; religiously, denominational and interdenominational. In this dimension, he stands alone. His unique abilities have gained the ears of leadership across these varied fields, which in turn has benefited the Apostolic movement immeasurably. He brings his life experience into a scholarly focus to present the essentials of the biblical New Birth message with clarity. I find it difficult to believe that anyone who reads his literary offering, without bias, could fault his presentation. His historical research is thorough, his doctrinal declarations are scriptural. The conclusions are clear. This Gospel of Christ, plainly preached by the Apostles, and carried down through the centuries, is the hope of humankind. Everywhere, among serious Bible students, lovers of church history, and revivalist; I predict Stan's book will be considered a "must read". **************************************** Paul D. Mooney, Pastor Calvary Tabernacle, President Indiana Bible College: Don't hesitate to add Stan Wachtstetter's book to you library. This volume on the subject of baptism is presented with passion, solid theology, and with a personal touch. Stan Wachstetter's life has given him the opportunity to walk with many significant world leaders, including U. S. Presidents, ambassadors, Prime Ministers, Governors, and countless movers and shakers in many parts of the world. I have been privileged to accompany him on many such occasions during his visits inside the 'inner-circles.' And what is important about those opportunities is that he has been a bold witness, not only about his faith in Christ but also the story of the sweeping impact and importance of the world-wide Pentecostal revival. He has, by God's help, faithfully address the central issue of his belief, which is that the Apostolic foundation of Christianity including water baptism in Jesus Name is vital and core to the Christian Faith. I'm a personal witness to the many occasions when such a testimony has peaked interest and response among many very powerful people in this world. With this book Stan once again makes the case, 'you must be born again.' His own life and bold witnessing about this truth give us good reason to take note of his interesting discussion on baptism. You will be glad you took the time to read it......
