In similar comic vein to 1066 and all That, Sam Merry shares his thirty years teaching, based on students' silly accounts of Modern History themes: "During pre-History, there were very few complete people, anyway - only skulls, bones and teeth scattered over the face of the earth, called hominids, thyroids and jawbones. During this time there were many prehistoric monsters, such as sibre-toothed taigers and mammals with huge tusks, wearing woolly jumpers. There were no dinosaurs because they had died out long ago from the big bang, or too much sex."
