Leaning against the tire of a broken-down Jeep stolen from a former girlfriend, Trevor is at the low point of the arc of a wasted life. For the sake of convenience, Trevor's fluid morals allow him to keep his disbelief in Sammy's story at arm's length and Sammy sees deeply hidden, potentially redeemable qualities in Trevor. Their bond lasts despite Sammy's secrecy, enigmatic claims of amazing scientific breakthroughs, and frequent disappearances. Along with a solid group of new friends, the two stumble through the landscape of morality, truth, and ethics, but the question of the value of personal relationships over material goods becomes severely strained when the business they start together shows the promise of real success. The stakes become incredibly high and the tension builds as Trevor is forced to choose between his own drives, his friendships, and possibly, the future of the world.
