This book is about a dog. Not just any dog. It is about Quake, the King of Dogs. Once in a lifetime, or maybe two lifetimes, there comes along a dog that is worth of the pen of authors, the memory of friends and the reading of others. It is a rare thing, but it is a good thing, not usually found, but when it is, they cannot be forgotten. Quake was such a dog. To him I owe my love, my devotion and my sanity. He was a special gift from God, who knew I needed an example of Himself, so he sent Quake. I trained him, but he taught me more than I can ever say. I fed him, but he sustained me in times of difficulty, pain and through dark clouds of the night. We laughed, played and at time wept together. I will never be the same, nor will you if you take the time to live with us, the adventures of a life well lived and of a heritage to be honored. The Author
