The problem of organ theft and organ trafficking is a global one. The state-sponsored nature of what happens in China is especially unsavory but the practice takes place worldwide. The black market for organs is estimated to be worth over $1 billion a year. It is vital that the Chinese Government is held accountable. Otherwise, the wrong message will be sent all over the world, undermining efforts to prevent organ trafficking.
