"A seeking soul will experience the reality of who God is and will never be disappointed if he really thirsts and longs for Him. God becomes the real encounter in the deepest and inmost recesses of our being when we are at the lowest point in life. Our darkest moments and trembling, life- threatening situations become the clearest adventure and sharpest vision on God. The power and glory of God can be self-revealing by divine providence. God reveals Himself in deepest conviction and sharpest consciousness when we are at our wit's end and hit rock bottom in life. This applies only for those who thirst and long in their soul to see the invisible God in the eye of faith. King David had this soul-experience in the barren and bone-dry wilderness of Judah probably during Absalom's rebellion in his life. He prayed: "O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is." Psalm 63:1 The man in isolation by providential circumstance was determined and single-minded to see the power and glory of God in his soul-searchings as he reviewed carefully and meditatively in the sphere of faith-based awareness-" I have seen thee in the sanctuary" perception. Right then and there, he encountered the overwhelming and striking reality: that the "loving-kindness of God is better than life." Do you have this parallel experience in your life that you can identify yourself with David's case? I can, and I praise God because He reveals Himself to me as lucid as the brightest star in those pitch-black episodes in the circumstances of life. Like the King we can say: "My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: when I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice." Psalm 63;5-7 Indeed, when one is in furnace of fiery trials, that life could be like thrown in a wasteland of uncertainties and confusions- the best option is to let God be in the big picture. And make Him, the LORD, dominate our encompassing thoughts and imaginations of our hearts realizing that God is our help and deliverance. He is our shield, refuge and will never forget the needy, crying for help and with great expectation from the Lord." OOC
