She attended the Alanon group session for thirty-six years, and she was able to learn why she was unable to know her true self. This step forward, along with thirty-two years of counseling, allowed her to express her true feelings and build a better life for herself. She went on to receive her master's degree and began teaching as well as becoming a popular local artist in her town.D'Amour currently resides on the north shore of Massachusetts. She enjoys life and her four children and three grandchildren.
