Meet Horatio Arthur Mills; valet to Lord George Pelham, 'war hero' and thoroughly decent chap. Oh, he has his faults of course, such as murdering the odd person or two, well, more than two, but who's counting? Even though he hasn't killed anybody in simply ages, the finger of suspicion slowly starts to point towards him and Horatio has more impetus than most to find the real killer. And if the killer can't be found, well he'll just have to frame someone won't he? But the question is, who? Or possibly, whom?
