Other characters enter their lives and affect them. Kev Lamb, who runs the local City farm, Mr Singerman, the well meaning teacher who never understands what's going on. The story ranges from light comedy to the horror of the dark trees. But always there is the mystery and wonder of Gran. This is the first book by Cherry Barham who also writes poetry and plays. Ghosts of Time began as an attempt to make a story out of all the subjects her grandchildren liked, which was quite a few, as she has twelve grandchildren. the story is told from the children's points of view, alternating between the thoughts of Danny and Jodie, with no adult interference. By the end of the book, they are free to sail into the stars of time. And to the sequel of which Cherry Barham has just finished the first draft.
