The text has been extensively updated, revised and edited by Cliff Harvey, based on the FNDH400 FlexBook by Brian Lindshield of Kansas State University. He is the founder of the Holistic Performance Institute. His areas of research and expertise are in metabolic adaptations to diet, especially lower-carbohydrate diets, keto-induction, 'carbohydrate appropriate diets' and symptoms of carbohydrate withdrawal. He is a former world champion and world record holder in All-Round Weightlifting and is the author of several best-selling books.
