Confessions of an X-Codependent is the chronicles of a woman's journey of seeking and finding true freedom in Christ. Author Jami Salters takes her readers on an intricate voyage through the deepest, darkest recesses of abuse, abandonment, depression, shame, guilt, lies, bitterness, fear, rejection, and much more. Her goal in scribing this book was not merely to express her emotions about her tribulations, but rather to expose the lies of an invisible enemy who is always afoot; one who purposes to kill, steal, and destroy all of us. She desires to reveal the heart of God who saved her wholly and completely - not just from eternal hell. Holy Spirit became her guiding source into the liberty that can come only from God. By discovering her true identity founded in Christ, she became empowered so as to overcome the false identities the world encroached upon her from numerous outside sources. Currently, her directive in this life is the same as that of Jesus Christ, which is stated in Luke 4:18-19 and Isaiah 61:1: to open blind eyes, bring good news to the poor, comfort the brokenhearted, and to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners. I had the honor of working with Jami on this fantastically vital book. What I knew instantly, and what I have found to be true over the last many years, is that Jami is an amazing, humble woman of God whose spirit and heart are pure through and through. She is a gentle, kindhearted woman whose only desire is to serve the Lord and aid others in their journey through life. Her story will lead people out of bondage and into the liberty of Christ. Her life is nothing short of a miracle. Jami is a rare gem in this world and what she offers is priceless to anyone attempting with futility to walk this earth while bound in the shackles of codependency. Codependency is a vicious, insidious villain who, once it gets its claws in a person, refuses to willingly let go. One must first learn and accept that they are codependent.
