The dreamed Africa and the real Africa constantly rub shoulders in this volume of the "Complete Poetic Works" of Kama Sywor Kamanda. In him, his roots. In him, his deep feeling of being a singer. Through a very broad lyricism that sweeps the pages, this poet confesses his freedom, his identity, that of a black man who feels his black sisters and brothers living in him. It is therefore above all an exaltation of his people, their fevers, their dramas, their joys. While making us discover, in all its brilliance, his African sensibility by its roots, marks its kinship, its proximity and its equality with the modern man by testifying of the unity of the world conceived, built and destroyed by the man, of the world in these ways and deviations towards our time of today. Kamanda's poetry is the awakened word of our contemporary who, while plunging into his roots and those of the world, is moving towards the future. This poet, whose panic sincerity is obvious, has preserved what is primordial in an artist, that is to say, this time found, where the intuitive roots of the being are immersed, which makes that what he writes can only be written by him and not by others.
