When you're only eight years old and your entire life have been series of cross country trips meeting new people and things. Life, as she sees it is normal. This is all she knows. Eventhus, there are often times dangerous encounters with humanity and the supernatural alike. Living life on the edge you grow up not knowing what to expect. You become callous at an early age. Weeping and depression at the first signs of stress isn't a luxury one can afford. Social definition of 'Normalcy' isn't a part of your vocabulary. She knows she's unlike any girl she has met in more ways than conceived at first glance. But in her eyes she's just a normal eight-year-old girl. The cruelty and evil that lurk inside the unknown realm of survival stares at her every day as she some days yearn for at least a semi-normal life. It aggressively explodes on the landscape of her young life day after day. Year after year with seemingly no end in sight. The only thing almost unbearable beautiful she knows is her mother's unconditional love and devotion to her. It is real and strong. Her mother's that will to live and keep her alive is something she can always depend up. Her mother, Ana, has proven countless times there's no greater love than a Mother for her child. Breanna's desire for living a normal life in a world of madness isn't unattainable, nor absurdness in her young eyes. It's her birthright, as she sees it. She dreams one day it will happen and that she and her mother will finally be happy and safe. That this life of constant danger and fright will someday be a faded memory. She has long grown weary of wherever they stop people do not understanding them, nor care nothing of their plight. They're often told to reassess their values and try to fit in their surroundings. Against her better wishes, to make Bea happy Ana attempt to give Bea aka Deirdre Mastwood a normal life by letting her participate in the seemingly harmless tradition of Trick or Treating. What can possible go wrong? In their crisscross travels, Bea enters a new school and befriends a girl named Cara who is a resident of the town, Beaumont, TX. But the town is much more than it seems on the outside. It has a dark secret. They unknowingly encounter and steps into an older order of things. But when push comes to shovel with this mother and daughter team. The town has met its match. They're something no one in Beaumont has ever seen. But what Ana, Bea and all of Beaumont witnessed at Halloween is something none will ever forget.
