Turmoil and entropy... Two of the many words that can attempt to enumerate and describe the crisis that is taking place in Nigeria. Innocent civilians are being butchered and massacred on a regular basis, and the cries and screams for help seem to only bother a few individuals outside of Nigeria. One of the primary peoples being tortured and killed are members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) which is led by Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky. They are in opposition to the oppressive behavior of the Nigerian military force who has now detained and brutally wounded Sheikh Zakzaky due to the conflicts between the opposing sides. As of now, the remaining members of the IMN, and other sympathizers of the oppressed sheikh, demand the release of their leader. It is regretful to state that there has been little done to raise awareness, or even assist, the oppressed who are simply in need of a voice while their leader has been taken from them. Because of this, I have decided to take it upon myself to compile letters which discuss the tragic story of Sheikh Zakzaky and the followers of his movement from the various view-points of my brothers and sisters who know of or have witnessed the oppression first hand. I have also decided to include a brief history of Sheikh Zakzaky's life, the origin of the conflict that has spurred what we see today, and an analysis on a few articles about the events taking place in regards to his and his followers' situation. Lastly, a few quotes and sayings were included so that those who read may connect with the revered sheikh on their own, individual wavelengths. The final result of the combination of this content is the book that you have with you at the moment. I pray that, with the Almighty's Will and Grace, I am able to raise adequate awareness about the horrible events that are taking place to Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, and to the Islamic Movement of Nigeria in general, using this humble attempt to depict the scenario as accurately as possible.
